Pratt Fine Arts Center: what do users think?

s k: Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle offers a vibrant space for artistic exploration and community engagement. With its diverse range of classes and workshops in various disciplines, from glassblowing to metalworking, Pratt fosters creativity and skill development. The facility is well-equipped, and instructors are knowledgeable, providing a supportive environment for both beginners and experienced artists. Additionally, Pratt's commitment to accessibility and inclusivity enhances its appeal as a hub for artistic expression in the Seattle area.

Sruti Lankireddy: I really enjoyed my class at Pratt - I took the 1 day class in color theory. The teacher was knowledgeable and explained the concepts clearly with exercises that reinforced the concepts. I’d love to take another class here.

Jeff Jeff: Great equipment and excellent classes. Classes are also a remarkably good value when you consider the cost per hour of instruction.

June Park: They offer a variety of classes at different levels and the instructors are amazing. I’ve taken different classes so far and feel very grateful that Pratt exists in Seattle!

S Day: Learn something useful already.

Hailey: I have had a wonderful experience with Pratt so far. I just completed the introductory stone carving class with Leon White. It was an 8 week series from 6p-10p every Wednesday. Our group of 8 bonded and had a blast learning how to use the hand and power tools. I was an absolute beginner yet I learned a lot and had so much fun. Very nonjudgmental and supportive environment. Looking forward to taking the next class in the series.

MDH: Big studios, good equipment and facilities. Instructors are super knowledgeable and friendly. They were explaining the process in detail which made me a bit more confident when working with hot flames.I had a blast in the glass studios. There is plenty of free parking around the building.

AmberPhlame De B: They have everything, from glass to fabrication, woodworking, metalsmithing, printing. The instructors are absolutely fantastic, the buildings are a little "vétuste".

Dana Rolax: What Washington calls Pratt park, We call it Bryant Manor park, those are the connected apartments. Anyway its a wonderful park with roofed basketball court and ample parking.

Katria: I loved to print. Place is good and needs everything for some kind of printing techniques.

Mary G: Loved the glass blowing class. It was amazing. I can't recommend it enough.

Gage Academy of Art: what do users think?

miss april MacKay: Love this place

Jack Blaz: Awesome place to do, talk and learn art.

Layla mag: I attended two week long summer camps I just wonder why the portfolio class was cancelled I was look forward to it.

Bruce M: Great learning environment that reminds me of the college times. Teachers are friendly and pay attention to details. Would recommend to people who want to pick up painting in their adulthood.

Tom Johnson: . She also did some creative movement, which she found interesting. Overall, she enjoyed the camp. The location is easy to get to and there are places to park as you do dropoffs and pickups. I wish they did more writing with the book projects, though. It was heavy on the art and not much on the story or writing. I also thought more directed instruction with techniques could have made it better, but I think providing a space for the kids to create on their own, following their own inner artist, so to speak, was worthwhile. The room didn't have AC, but kids didn't seem to mind much. The room was oozing with a sense of art and project-making/building.

angeline Blattenbauer: I have been taking classes here since I was a teen and attended some of the free teen art classes. I continue to take the adult classes, every time I take a class I can feel my skills increase. The teachers are amazing!

Mara Modayur: My son enjoys the classes and we've both been impressed with the quality of instruction and live models. Fantastic school.

Кир: The classes I've had here are great quality, and the art teachers are very skilled . I recommend this school

Kirk Meeks: Great place! Amazing instructors!

Morgan Patten: Positive:Quality,Value

Mahalie Stackpole: Atelier style + level of classical art instruction - I love this place. It's old school, no more like olde school. I'm thankful we have access to high quality classical art instruction in Seattle. Most of the classes are instructed by phenomenal professional artists. Agree with other reviews, if you're serious about building fundamental skills in classic mediums this is an amazing place.

Antonella Pavese: and all have been fantastic. If you are serious in learning art skills, Gage is an excellent school.

Tamara Lee: to learn solid skills and gain confidence. My teen is thrilled with the classes she's taken

Seattle Glassblowing Studio: what do users think?

Lily: Did the 3 hour private lesson for my husband’s birthday and it was a blast! We loved the Netflix show Blown Away and wanted to try it out for ourselves. Our instructor Darrien was super informative and patient, and helped us make 5 custom pieces. He even made us a beautiful wavy bowl at the end! The front staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We have a newfound appreciation for the art of glassblowing!

Tammy Blount-Canavan: This was such a fun and inspiring experience and Joe was so patient - thank you!!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Perks Don: We came here for a hands on lesson and loved it. Our glassblower was a perfect teacher, who knew when to let us do, or to guide, or take over. My daughters had a great time. This studio made us happy and seriously respect the art.Visited on Weekday Wait time 1 hr+ Reservation recommended Not sure …

Elisha French: Fantastic family outing and activityVisited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Briar Rose: The environment was very inviting upon entering the store/shop. Staff were kind and open to discussion while I was waiting for my time to start on a two hour private lesson. They explained everything in detail from safety and use of the different tools to how to handle each piece. They did step by step on how long to keep the piece in the furnace and when to bring it out. The shaping of the pieces was done by the instructor, but I was still able to help during some of those points. Such a great experience and I do plan to come back when I can to do another piece.

D.R.: Yoshie Sugo was our masterful instructor. Everyone enjoyed our experience with her. Great studio, awesome teacher. Do it!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Rebecca Rose: My husband and I are long time fans of glass blowing and we’re obsessed with Netflix’s Blown Away so we had to book a session at Seattle’s glass blowing studio! Edgar was the artist that assisted us and did a great job, he’s super chill. We made 2 pieces and can’t wait to go back now that we have the hang of it. Love that they let you watch the other artist create pieces as well!

Eric Hann: I am very happy that I get to experience how to make the glass bowl. I am thankful for my instructor , Malcolm, for his patience and knowledge. Great experience for me!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …

Julie Feikes: Had a great experience with the blow your own glass class!

Lizzie G: So fun! Went for a group activity and it was cool. Don’t do pottery too much but there’s a wide selection of options to paint! A little out of the way but the woman who runs the shop is very accommodating and kind! You might need a resi for big groups but would go again on another rainy day

Megan Fairweather: My mom, niece and I had a wonderful time this afternoon at Emerald City Fired Arts. The studio has lots of ceramics to paint plus the option to do a fused glass project or also a mosaic tile. If you’re looking for a fun, creative and memorable way to celebrate time with family and friends you’ll love Emerald City Fired Arts. Plus, The studio was nice and cool on a hot summer afternoon. Michelle Mitchell: This place is sooo amazing. The art pieces are reasonably priced and the space to create is phenomenal.

Becky Handshew: Super fun. Friendly and helpful staff member. Very happy with how our pieces turned out.

Monster: what do users think?

Laura Emmerson: I love this shop! I went to a monthly craft night. The events are a great way to be part of community and craft. I bought some water color paints for the event. I would recommend this store to anyone!

Cheryl Kuczek: This store is lovely with handcrafted merchandise from local artisans to very cool & fun crafty classes that allow peeps to try out new cool stuff to make. Store owner and staff are kind and patient with customers!

Amita Siddiqui: Super cute place to take craft lessons. Lots of fun stuff in the store to just browse too. My daughter and I took a pairing class which we loved. It was short, easy and just the right activity for a rainy Seattle evening. Beats kids staring at a screen. You get to use your hands, be creative, and with no pressure for fixed results. Can’t wait to try their embroidery, resin art and other classes too.

Jake Whitaker: Great store with a fun selection of cards, socks, shirts, crafts and so much more.

Steven Sparkman: Great fun eclectic shop

Danielle Lambert: the best local arts and crafts 🌟

Amanda Tehaney: Took the embroidery class. It was so fun! The store is super cute and the shop owner is so kind. I’ll be back again for another class!

Laura Cameron: and everyone had a blast!

Izzi Humes: cute gift store! always love to poke around

Erin Kerr: My friends and I booked a private rug tufting class and had an amazing time. None of us had ever tufted before but by the end we were feeling super confident using the machines. Our instructors Rosalie and Andie were so helpful and lovely to spend the day with. I want to come back to Seattle just to take another class!! Thank you so much!

S H: A must see if your in Ballard. Fun and quirky and great gifts for anyone.

Miranda Bradley: This store is such a joy. The products are a lot of fun and the classes are fantastic. They do their reward points in "butts" so you get to say fun things like "I'd like to redeem some butts, please." It's the perfect spot for fun gifts, stickers, crafts and a cozy sweatshirt or pair of socks.

Holly Chan: Monster has always been my go-to spot when shopping for unique and delightful gifts for loved ones in my life, and it’s the first place I recommend to others! Love cats? Nerdy stuff? Plants? Space? Quirky humor? There’s something for everyone here, curated from small diverse businesses across the country. It’s also from this shop that I’ve learned of new artists and small businesses, and for that I’ll always be grateful. The staff are always welcoming and friendly as soon as you walk in. Sometimes if you’re looking for something specific they’ll go on the hunt through all the options with you, or sometimes if something sparks joy you’ll end up gushing with them about it for ten minutes. I haven’t had a chance to try out their crafting classes yet, but I’ve been meaning to, especially if it means getting to hang out within the great vibes of this treasure trove of a store.

Sam Keske: Cute, local arts, crafts, and trinkets. They also host workshops like introductory crocheting. Friendly staff can help you find the right oddity to take home. Cool!

Wyldwood Creative: what do users think?

Alanna Williams: I took a sewing 101 class here and had the best time. I had no experience seeing prior to taking the class, and the instructor was kind and encouraging. I loved leaving with a finished product! This is an inclusive and welcoming space, which I appreciate.

Selena Bracelen: I’ve taken a few classes here and am always so impressed!! The instructors are so talented, kind, and patient. The owner is absolutely wonderful. Fabric selection is high quality and lovely. I love supporting small business like this!!

K R: I’ve taken the beginner sewing and quilting class at Wyldwood and they gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed to make my first quilt & more! Always love coming here for fabrics and notions too.

Emily Hendricks: Great experiences shopping in store, online and taking one of the classes. Would highly recommend!

Gina Jadelis: I love following this little shop on Tik Tok and instagram. Not only does Tawnee, the owner, share about small business ownership and makes it very personable for her customers, but she is very professional and responsive. I ordered fabric from her and received it within 3 days. One day I hope that I could visit the store in person, but I will be happy to continue supporting this store online!

C: . Modest collection of quilting and garment fabrics. Also stock paint by # kits and needle felting kits. Nice staff.

Starfevre: Attempted socializing with pizza and puzzles. Probably would have enjoyed myself more without the migraine.

Julia Chiang: Amazing local gem owned by an amazing human! Great workshops, high quality fabrics and kits 3

Cezanne Lane: . The fabric selection and kits are so gorgeous and always inspire me to start yet another project. Love having this place local.

Rachel Tyler: I messaged the store on Instagram about a quilt kit and she sent it in the mail the same day! The quilt kits are easy to do and with good instructions!

Karen Secrest: This cute craft and fabric store has a small footprint, but I always find what I need! They have a fantastic assortment of notions, tools, embroidery floss, craft kits, pins, and stickers. There's something for everyone whether you're experienced at sewing or a novice crafter. I love popping in for a quick pick-me-up or a unique gift.

Melanie Weber: I recently received a Treat Yourself Calendar and was blown away by the variety of fun and useful items from local makers and big companies like Ruby Star Society.

Chris Batten: I purchased Wyldwood Creative's countdown calendar and was thoroughly impressed with the gifts that came! Each day was a new surprise. A nice bonus was that some of the gifts were not sewing related and came from other local, independent retailers. The calendar was a bit expensive, but after seeing the quality of the gifts I would happily purchase it again.

Sarah Como: I'll be back to take more classes!

Amanda B: I first went to Wyldwood to take the “my first quilt” class and I was incredibly impressed by the class and the variety of products in the shop. My quilt is beloved and was a joy to make. The maker materials are great and the local products are fabulous. All my gifts are coming from Wyldwood. I have since taken multiple classes and every instructor is knowledgeable, kind and facilitates a great environment. Would absolutely recommend.

Sue Taylor: HIGHLY recommend! Support this amazing small business! I took an online quilting class and learned TONS. Super fun and fast way to permanently change the way you see yourself as a wildly creative and CAPABLE person. T makes it all possible for EVERYONE to join this community.

Nikki Mason: I just finished the 6 week Virtual Quilting class offered by Wyldwood Creative. I am very new to quilting and I learned so much from this classes. I highly recommend this class for beginners or a refresher. I feel a lot more confident in making my next quilt. Tawnee is a great teacher and answers all of your questions. Her shop in Renton, the Seattle area, is awesome for shopping for fabric, crafts, and all of your sewing needs. Tawnee and her staff are super helpful if you have questions about anything while shopping in there.

General Assembly Seattle: what do users think?

Marcel N: I've just taken intro classes in my spare time over a couple years. Love the business model that General Assembly has! The intro classes are very in depth for a short session. I just came from the cannabis panel they hosted and I'm shocked nobody took advantage of this profession event! When I finish my college degree, I'd very much like to take on the full classes at GA

Anastasia Tavare: free info sessions to get to know the curriculum and people there. I wasn't disappointed at all. Check out their info session or networking events, even if you don't think you need to attend the classes they offer. Honestly, anyone can get at least something out of any event the GA puts on. Get your learning on and check out an event!!!

Helen Ell Tran: They have free introduction to classes at night time and hosted the Google Sprint here. It was great.

Hugo House: what do users think?

Heather A Adams: This is a lovely place to write and engage with other writers to develop your craft. The classes are pretty awesome and so diverse. There’s a lot of ways to enage and participate which makes finding yourself in the literary space a lot more easy, or at least more interesting. The space itself is great with modern and updated touches that belie its humble roots. I look forward to more interactions with Hugo House.

Morgan Wallace: Seattle's literary salon!

J M: Closed due to "autonomy."

Steven Vroom: A resource for writing

Wendy McMillan: Always an amazing experience, Suzanne Morrisons class was just what I needed before finishing my research in Glasgow. Look forward to more classes when I get back.

F Dalglish: A writer's community to write with and for.

M B: I think it's a very clever idea. One issue I've found in general is that to fit in you have to be a football player - I like the idea that you don't have to be a jock to find community. This is a great idea!

Paulette Pennock: Nice Environment...Clean & Friendly Staff🌟 The Place feels Cozy & Safe🌟
