Honestly still kind of emotional.I was looking for a hiking boot for the weekend but came really late. Like 2 minutes before they close late. I was really just browsing and didn’t expect much but a sales rep approached us and took so much time and care measuring my feet, giving me hiking socks to try, and letting me try some shoes. In the end it took about 15 minutes, but I just felt so appreciative. Honestly this is what makes REI the best. If the rep ever sees this, it’s a dude, thank you again!!

With that said, every time I’ve come into this location over the many years of living in Seattle I’ve always been met with someone I felt was a perfect expression of that. I’ve never left any questions unasked when I’m there and always leave knowing something more about the industry that I’d didn’t know before. I used to carry them on my lanyard and/or along with my badge, but it was all getting a lil too heavy.I had a couple employees try to help me although I’m sure my own ambivalence or lack of having any real idea of what kind I wanted discouraged them from going on a treasure hunt with me - not to knock them, they definitely tried to be helpful and were all very nice and professional, it’s me that is the problem, my friends.Well, the stars finally decided to align and I swear they could’ve been wearing a cape - Elijah comes out of the most electric blue and holy moly, the determination of this human. .. I told them I was being cheap and black was the ideal and of course, most coveted of the colors for such an accessory, but this did not hinder their endurance. After a couple of misses, Elijah finds me the most perfect multi-wear waist pack. It had one solid strap which is adjustable in any way imaginable and oh, so minimal and sleek. It was so perfect, I could cry. I didn’t, but I could have.So, to my super hero Elijah, thank you so much for dealing with my indecisive, ADHD brain and helping me walk a way with the Nike Sportswear Rebel Crosdbory in black, of course. We put Carhartt clothing to very hard use - vs barbed wire, rocks, lumberjack work - at our mountain ranch in Wyoming and it is truly rugged. Great little store in a good location with a very positive vibe …. Thumbs up from me.

Rob Hewitt: One of very few stores remaining on the streets of downtown Seattle. Lots of friendly staff. Was blown away that they had to take drastic measures for loss-prevention. They literally locked you in and escorted you out because theft is so rampant by the transients and tweakers.

Lacey Bannister: Love their clothing. Wish it had more stock on hand for larger or plus clothing. Recommend ordering online then picking up to make sure what you want is available. The salutation leggings feel like butter and are my favorite day to day.
