I spent only a couple of minutes describing to her what I had in mind. In retrospect, it probably would have been more helpful to Nadya if I came prepared with photos to share, illustrating the new style I wanted, but she assured me she got it.Well, she nailed it. I love my new hairstyle! Is it the cheapest cut? Absolutely not, but c'mon guys... Treat yourself.The salon is also a great space. Amy Cuaresma: I am visiting from Alaska for breast cancer surgery at UW. I Have been struggling with hair loss from alopecia and poor self esteem. I hadn't been to a salon in 5 years, I lost all the hair on the right side of my for over a year, then when it came back I still had circular bald patches. Now that it's filled in I decided to go get a trim and highlights. Awesome, compassionate, flexible and professional are just a few of the words that come to mind. Oh yeah, the scalp massage, omg the scalp massage. I could die and go to heaven with a go scalp massage.Anyway after my appointment I realized that it wasn't what I expected in that I really wanted some face framing highlights after a few days I contacted the salon and they offered to do a complimentary foil touchup no charge. They got me in the next day at noon, unfortunately I got lost using the bus system and it made me embarrassingly late. When I called them they moved my appointment down an hour with no hassle. I hate being late and keeping people waiting is rude, but I was met with understanding and compassion.

Before we started, I let her know I had plans in less than 2 hours and without me asking, she added a few curls to my hair and I got compliments all night. Lynne O'Brien: I have been going to Red Chair since they opened, and have been going to owner/stylist, Amy, even longer. She listens to my vision and makes it work for my hair. She suggests products that actually work for my hair. Speaking of products, Red Chair has their own line of products and the H2O shampoo and conditioner keeps my hair healthy, shiny, and smells like a creamsicle. The shop has a fun vibe and every other stylist or front desk person has been friendly and welcoming even when they are insanely busy. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can get a walk-in appointment, but you may have to plan ahead to schedule a few appointments with your favorite stylist.

In terms of atmosphere, BANG feels very open and welcoming, not pretentious or tense which is the vibe I get at other hair salons and barbershops. I've only been with Johnny so my review is based on my experience with him. I work in a science-related field, so I'm a very math oriented person. I described to Johnny the type of haircut I wanted, showed him some photos and he adapted the same style for the shape of my head, my texture and thickness of hair, and then he explained the geometry of how he planned to cut my hair, how it would lay in order to replicate the same look in the photos I shared. I love her, she's the best, and her ability to cut my baby fine silky hair and make it have volume and texture is literally magic. She's super kind, always asks how I'm doing and legit wants to hear my answer. She's perfected my pixie cut by listening to me talk about parts I like, parts I want to change, and offers up suggestions for new things to try without being pushy when it's out of my comfort zone.I book in advance on schedulicity because her appointments fill up about a month out, but I've also called and booked over the phone.Their staff is kind, and I feel like I could get my hair cut by anyone there and have a good experience. Cute vibe, fairly easy to park, and one of the stylists has an adorable aussie doodle that will almost always come greet you and sit next to you on the couch for pets and love. Yvonne Ontiveros: I went to this salon based on a friend’s recommendation. Her stylist wasn’t available but Lorenzo was so I booked based on other positive reviews. I got a cut and partial foil. I love my hair and how it turned out. The biggest surprise by this visit was the expensive bill at the end. I have lived all over the world and have never paid this high of a price. Out of shock and character for me, I asked him to break down the cost. He charged $130 for a haircut and $195 for partial highlights. With tip I walked out nearly $400 out of my pocket. I don’t have especially long hair or anything to justify this exorbitant price. It felt like there had to be a mistake. The only advice I can give before booking with this salon is call ahead to see what kind of bill you might end up with.

Jennifer Monaco: Madison was my stylist and she started and ended on time. Very important for me because I have a baby and needed to be home on time. She was friendly but not overly talkative/distracted. I showed her a picture of the bangs I wanted and trim....she gave me exactly that. The salon was very clean and I felt safe. Barbara Leaf SPED: erika is a master of fine hair. she gave my straight, fine, thin and limp hair a lovely, easy-maintenance look. when i told her i do not like to style my hair, and prefer a wash and go cut, she delivered. many stylists have used product, tools and techniques to give my hair a great finished look...but one that i cannot replicate at home. erika used a dash of aveda volumizing tonic and a diffuser to gently dry and scrunch my hair, producing a finish that mimicked air drying. i was able to recreate the look at home easily. although the "fantasy" look is fun, i appreciated her focus on reality, so that i did not end up disappointed a few days later. thank you, erika, for your attention to my preferences, and beautiful detail!

I HATE getting haircuts because they always leave me sad. At best, I get a haircut that is weirdly straight at my scalp and then super heavy around my chin. No matter how much I tell the stylist, that I want something different, I get that cut. My last cut looked good when I left the salon but the next day after the product relaxed it was clearly very asymmetrical to the point that a friend said it was "brave". The result of all this is that my hair is always just pulled back from my face to hide the weird-sad that is going on in the cut. But 3 years ago at a Home Goods I saw a woman with an amazing curly hair cut and she told me it was from Foxycut. I wrote it down and then forgot about it until I recently cleaned out my old purse. SO I made an appointment in a moment of "It can't be worse than the last one" and then I literally didn't sleep the night before, thinking about how much worse it could be.Enter Dennis, a very sweet human who looked at the pictures I liked and the ones I didn't like and then said "I gotchu". AND DENNIS GOT ME! I had a dry cut followed by a wash and light dry, along with Dennis' enjoyable company. I walked out so happy and miraculously, it's one month later and I'm STILL happy.I was also nervous about the price of the cut, but honestly, money WELL spent. The compliments I got on my hair were daily for the first two weeks. No one even noticed I'd had it cut because no one ever saw it down anyway, it was just "I like your hair like that" and "what did you do to your hair? Looks great!"The best part is that I can still pull it back, but it has great shape and volume in the right places when it's down. It's really easy to wear down with just a little product after the shower and it still looks good whether it decides to be curly, wavy or flat. AND, and, and...it's great.I read all the reviews about the vibe at Foxycut before booking and it seemed to be a dividing line for some folks. I don't know what the 'nay' people are on about because it felt a little like getting your hair done at your coolest auntie's house and her best friend drops by with a plate and they let you hear all the gossip. For the first time ever I'm excited to go back to a salon.

I have been on the hunt for a true curly hair specialist for years and have been sadly disappointed in the past so I had a lot of hope riding on this appointment. Now I did run into one hurdle when I first checked in to my appointment...my stylist was late. Very late. The reason I stayed was because the other stylists were attentive and apologetic and definitely gave me the sense that this was not normal. Once my stylist, Miguel, arrived he was apologetic and got right to work. He chatted with me about what I wanted and even took before photos to show me what I'm working with and what he thought would be the best course of action. The attention and detail he put into my cut was evident from the first snip and he cut my hair dry which let me know he knew how to cut curly hair! That may seem like a no brainer for some but trust me it's not. He chatted with me about products and absolutely made up for his tardiness by giving me the best hair cut ever. I am thankful to the other staff for their kindness and beyond that the salon itself has such a great energy. I will absolutely be going back!
