Brian o: When I initially called RWC they told me there was an approximate two day wait to do the initial diagnostic on the truck.. fortunately they got it in looked at and diagnosed sooner than that.. the entire service department was super easy to deal with.. Erica was my main point of contact she was always very friendly upbeat and proactive about speeding up the process of getting the estimate for all repairs and parts availability.. unfortunately the main repair item was on back order such as our current state of supply chain.. but other than that, which was beyond their control I had nothing but a positive experience start to finish!

They promptly scheduled and completed injector replacement and valve adjustments on my 20 y.o. Cummins marine diesel. Their quote was reasonable and they also flagged some other maintenance issues that I am scheduling them to complete as well. The engine is running like a top and the smoke and sheen issues I was experiencing are solved. Highly recommend these friendly, honest, competent, and reliable people.

But, in all honesty, after 30 years in the field, if you know anything at all about the marine propulsion industry, you can tell the level of service and expertise that Hatton has going for it just by walking through the front door and having a look around. The owner was amazing to work with and preformed amazing work. Went down to pick my truck up and drove like brand new. Owner only gets new or ultra low mile engines. Warranty company shafted the owner for the rest of the bill, I didnt find out about this tell 2023. Called the owner and talked for a bit and had a great catching up conversation. I will always take my diesel trucks to them even though I don’t live close to the area. The dealership sent my truck with the engine in pieces and they took care of it right away. Nancy Salacinski: Gene is one of the rare people who cares as much about your vehicle as he would if it were his own vehicle. He did some in-depth work on our transmission and engine and we are delighted with the results. He even worked late into the night to finish the job after he found out that we were on a tight schedule, and he documented everything. Christopher Mcguire: Hi there I am a diesel owner I had my truck for 4 years i had head gasket work done on my dodge by another shop when they were done and I got my truck back it started throwing codes my truck has never done this before so I called the original shop back and took my truck in 1 of the guys look at it and said he didn't know so he looked in to it and told me it needed a tune put in it so I was stressing out I left and started calling around I contacted sound diesel performance and talked to Gene he listened to me and talked to me and said that it didn't sound like that was the problem he encouraged me to go back to the original shop where I had the work done so I called them and went back another top guy looked at my truck and put the computer on it after 10 minutes he came back and told me that my truck was searching for parts and so I needed to put a tune in it and told me that it happens and gave me a brand of tuner to buy I looked it up it was 1,500 dollars I got more stressed so I left I called back to sound diesel performance and talked to Gene again he talked for another 20 minutes with me and then told me if I could get there first thing in the morning he would look at it for me to see if he could figure it out I showed up the next morning Gene talk to me then told me to leave it for a couple hours I was getting ready to leave with my ride and Gene called me over showed me what the computer said he went under the hood for 30 seconds went back to the computer showed me the codes were gone and the problem was fixed it literally took Gene 2 minutes to fix my truck and then he did not charge me I want to thank Gene for his time and knowledge I will call sound diesel performance for any future problems with my truck and I will recommend him to all my friend Gene is up front ,honest,and knowledgeable about diesel thanks again Gene

David T: This review is long overdue. I have had a fantastic experience with Gene at Sound Diesel Performance.First I brought him my 2012 Ram 3500 that I just bought used at a dealer. Seems it had a blown head gasket. I got quoted around 5k from the dealer and another shop. The truck had 5 inch straight exhaust pipe no muffler. Also power adders. It was fast and loud. Way too much of both. I just wanted a good tow rig.Gene is a diesel geek! I mean that in a good way. He told me immediatley that I probably had a cracked head and that the next thing to go would probably be the transmission as I was pushing way too much horsepower and torgue for the stock unit. I had him start the work. He was right. The head was cracked in 6 places. Gene stepped up and gave me a great deal. I got a new O ringed head and head gasket with all new ARP studs and... a new 4 inch exhaust with a muffler and... all those power adders taken off and.... the transmission shift points tuned for the best towing and... some other misc parts and pieces... for $7500 bucks. It's been two years and 30k miles later and the truck still runs flawlessly.I couldn't be happier with Gene and his forthright and honest business ethics.I have since taken other diesels to him and it has always been an excellent experience.I couldn't recommend his services higher.

Herbert Johnston: I have an '01 Dodge Ram 2500 affectionately referred to as "The Hildabeast". I am one of those people who love driving, and my vehicles bring me an immense amount of happiness. This truck had been the perfect rig for a long time! But unfortunately, I was to become victim of the dreaded Curse of the "53" block. At around 238,000 miles, she finally gave out. I was overheating, and finally found the coolant leak. Sure enough, it was a cracked block.As I mentioned, I love my vehicles. I typically do my own work, but I didn't have the time, tooling, space, nor frankly the inclination for a project this big. I was pretty worried about where I would go to have the work done. I definitely wanted to keep the truck. It's my ultimate rig, with a 6 speed manual. It's my "retirement" truck.I spent the better part of a Saturday going over reviews of various places, and kept coming back to Sound Diesel. Reviews mean a lot to me, and Gene had some great ones, so I decided to take it to him.Gene immediately diagnosed the cracked block and was straight with me from the get go. "I don't do anything stock" he said and he gave me a quote. It was a good quote for the high quality work that I expected and I gave him the go ahead. I could tell from the start that Gene and I share the same philosophy....do the job once and do it right!Gene was amazing throughout the entire build process! He was very communicative, giving me constant updates as the work was being done, from tear down to buildup. He invited me down to the shop to inspect the block once it was out and torn down, and again several more times as the project continued. I was very impressed with the work, and the atmosphere of the shop. He then brought me down to the shop to take it for a drive.Holy sweet mother of whiplash! I knew that my truck was going to turn out good, but I had absolutely NO IDEA of the level of good!!!! This thing is a whole new animal!! Gene made some upgrades for me along the way and I am so glad I listened to his advice. The new clutch he put in is like butter, and the new tuner is much better and more user friendly! Best of all with the new, upgraded turbo, injectors, and Gene's master tuning, the power output is INCREDIBLE!!!!! I actually have to be more careful now because she will break loose without so much as thinking about it if I am not! Hilda is a whole new beast, and I would put her up against any new truck in her class!Thank you Gene, and thanks to your employees as well for the First Class treatment and the love and care you showed my truck!! George B.: Exceptional service!I happened to have car issues with my 2000 Mercedes northbound Hwy 99, and had to pull over arund the OakTree market. The Best Service and Repair, happened to by on the side street I pulled and as my car was smoking and fuming, it seemed that I had no other option. I left the car parked and went in to speak with the owner, his name is George. Although busy he left what he was doing and came to take a look. He could have taken advantage of the situation and give me a dishonest quote, but he did not. The part need was $60 with the labor on top, it was a totalof a few hundred dollars. I was on my way within 2 hours. I went to that store 2 more times: with my wife's car and my oldest son's car, and everytime the repair was done correctly and in time. I found my mechanic! Now only if my doctor was as proficient!

In addition to changing the timing chain they also changed high pressure fuel pump and did valve cover replacement with gaskets. The final repair cost was the same as the estimate they gave after diagnostics, they charged no extra money. After the repair the car runs great.
